I am a mixed media artist currently residing in New Hampshire.  Whether working in paint or collage my work is inspired by the myriad of landscapes I have lived in and traveled through.  With a focus on expressing the feelings evoked by being fully present in favorite places my pieces are abstract rather than representational.  Mixed media allows me to communicate the complexity of feeling attached to a place - past, present and possible.

 

Colors, shapes and seasonal changes are reflected in layers that each tell a story.  Though many layers may be covered over before a work is finished, they are just as necessary to the final piece as are the life experiences that shape the person we become.

 

My creative process is one of discoveries, moving through layers of color, texture, shape and contrast until I reach a finished piece.  The excitement of exploring, defining and refining what is true to me is what drives me to create.  The process never ends and I am privileged to put it to canvas out into the world.
